I find people are interesting creature. More interesting than those blue monsters in AVATAR. Oh I hate AVATAR and I even called a total bitch Avatar.
I mean, what happen to pure friendship? I admit I find really good friends here but the not-so-good acquaintance as well. Y’know times like this, I miss my friends back home. They’re the best human beings alive so far. I’m not kiasu first of all, I don’t care about any unhealthy competition going on in the class. As far as I’m concerned, I’m just doing my daily routine with the intention to study. Why do we make life so complicated when life is simple at its nature? Being the best is deadly, I tell you.
It just breaks this tiny heart of mine to see people struggle to get things they wanted in life. Be it the most heartbreaking way or just a simple verbal saying. At the end of the day, no one likes you because you can’t possibly care. I wanted to be left out from this childish agenda. I have my own life to be pursued. Friendship, the real value to it is somewhat missing from this world now. Chasing dreams, hit the moon. That’s it, just the moon.

I finally understood your ‘Misery’ post. I prefer the old set of friends we used to have. No unnecessary drama. Just pure bliss of having friends around you who make you laugh and everything. I need them now. You’re lucky though you have some of those close friends around you. I have none. It’s so depressing at times. I’m not judging them anymore but the hard cold truth is they’re not like OUR friends.
I’m going to make full use of my two-weeks holidays to spend good times with my friends. I hope it kills this depression. Tracy Tan, you owe me one dinner! =)

Being the best is INDEED deadly.
ReplyDeleteIt's healthy to compete academically, but it will be unhealthy if someone starts to do whatever that makes it possible to be the best. Like treating your friend differently 'cause you think you and your friend are of different standards.
So in your situation, what's the problem? Just curious =)
Yeah, I admit I do make some new friends here. But I also admit that most of the friends I find reliable are the Marians. So you see, it still goes back to the old set of friends.
