Heartless

Something bad happened before the sun was up today.

That feeling when you were so near and yet, it's helpless. 

My neighbour's house was broken into around 1.30 - 2.30 in the morning. The burglars entered from the back, removed the window pans and subsequently, turned the kitchen's door knob. I suspected there was more than one person since they tried to reverse my neighbour's Kelisa but failed since it's automatic transmission. Weird and crazy at the same time, no one woke up to even the slightest sound. Not even me or mum who usually have some sort of sleeping difficulties. I felt so restless last night - I have no idea why, and slept soundly. Again, I suspected the burglars might have done "something" to their perimeters in order for them to break in the house successfully. There's one dog who's usually really crazy with barking, was SO SILENT this morning. My suspicions were again raised and pretty much confirmed after personal interrogations with another neighbour.

What's breaking this heart of mine?

My neighbour has a newborn baby about a month old. Since his wife is in her confinement, the entire family slept in the living room together. His eldest child is only four years old. What if the burglars went nasty and hurt all of them? I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if that happens. Thanks be to God, there are no harm done to the family. Mum woke me up at 2.30 frantically after received a call from Isabelle's mummy. I couldn't sleep and decided to go next door to accompany their family. The baby was wide awake, oblivious to his surrounding.

The hassles that they had to go through for the loss are unbearable. People these days are losing their humanity, instant money oriented and annoyingly retarded. Where does hard work go? Real effort and all? Don't they have a soft spot for their family? A newborn baby, for Christ sake? How can one be so cruel and uncompassionate?

Even living in your own house now doesn't provide you the same sense of security anymore. Things have changed drastically for me. I cannot take things for granted and need to be alert around the clock. My brother at times is late back from work.

Please pray for their family. Pray so that blessings can be poured onto this family; protection from any evil snares and constant faith to be kept in the family. Pray that they will be in good health wherever they are, always be on their guard.
