I've never had any amazing story of peanuts, let alone any food in this world. This year brought in tons of crazy things in life, things that I won't expect myself to experience.
(Detour: I don't generally enjoy peanuts in my food intake but it's really nice to munch on the salted ones in one of those snacking mood)
So the story of peanuts?
I was on my way to Kuching for Raya holidays. I wore baju kurung because I had examination earlier that day and I'm lazy like that. In the plane, I dozed off. I was so drained out and post-examination mood wasn't kicking in just yet. Sleeping it is.
(The funniest/craziest/any synonym + superlative part)
I was nudged at the elbow. Groggily, I woke up, squinted my eyes and looked up. "Oh, the air steward." I pasted a smile on my face and greeted him. He smiled at me back and gave me a whole pack of MAS salted peanuts! Not just one, but 15 packets! And I'm sure he said something but I couldn't catch whatever it was. I was happy though, not because of him, but for the peanuts. I've always loved the MAS's peanuts. So yeah, I went back to sleep.
Right before I start falling asleep again, the air steward stood right in front of me. I sat ramrod straight and pasted yet another smile on my face. Seriously, I look so fake I could have died just by looking at myself. Mind focus, I shall be polite and say thank you appropriately. He asked me whether I'm going back for Raya. I said yes (I'm not celebrating but visiting is close to that). Then he asked is Kuching my hometown. I nodded (Of course la duh, Sarawak Ibu Pertiwiku okay). And the conversation ended. I let go a sigh of relief.
I was very conscious then, my goal for that an hour flight home was clearly distracted. I twitched around, not knowing what to do. Was wondering what Copet (my boyfie's nickname, don't ask me why) is doing at the moment. You've got the picture. I looked to my left, "Eh the air steward again. What does he want this time around?" He handed me a pack of biscuits and candies. I stared at him and quickly said thank you. BEING POLITE okay. So I sat there wondering why was he giving me so many things. My satellite disc is usually working at its maximum, it was pretty low that day.
When realisation hit me, eyes wide open, mouth gaped like a cave, gah you know what I mean. I grinned all the way because I thought it was nonsensical. It is actually, in case you know what was it. But I leave it up to your imagination :) Hint: Out of so many places! I was checking mentally whether that was what I think it is. Proven because something happened. Like literally happened, happened. I couldn't burst out laughing, I'll be thrown out of the plane any time. And it has not even landed. No, I don't want that to be my final destination. Do make a wild guess and ask me personally if you want to know what was it. It's pretty good stuff ;)
Back to peanuts, I'm terrified of them at the moment. I just received a pack of it from Madam Hairani. Out of so many food in the world, why PEANUTS? Well of course, out of courtesy I took it. But I'm just going to give it to my friends tomorrow.
Sharing is caring.
Peanuts are too fascinating in the now, I'm still waiting for it to pass.
Lesson of the day: Never accept peanuts from strangers.
2nd lesson of the day: Free things are never free (trust me!).
3rd lesson of the day: Never tell your boyfriend anything that happens on-board (I'm dead serious).
Rachel, I don't believe in second meeting ;D

Is it me, or does this story shows that the air steward was actually interested in you? Hahaha~
